Career Description

Real estate appraisers inspect property and compare it to similar properties to decide how much a house, building or land is worth. Appraisers are usually good at math, are detail oriented and can communicate well. Someone interested in becoming an appraiser in North Carolina must start as a trainee with a certificate and work experience before they can work on their own as a licensed appraiser, which requires an Associate's Degree. Many appraisers are also entrepreneurs and work for themselves!
